Principal's Message

Meet Your Principal

Principal LeMuiex

Welcome Finley Families!

Welcome to the 2025–2026 school year at Finley Computer Science Magnet School! We are thrilled to begin this new academic journey with you and your children, and we’re especially excited to officially launch our Spanish Dual Immersion Program. This innovative program offers students the opportunity to become bilingual and biliterate in both English and Spanish while developing cross-cultural skills that are essential in our interconnected world.

One of the key pillars of dual language education is the celebration and development of each student’s home language and culture. At Finley, we believe that students thrive when their identities, backgrounds, and lived experiences are honored in the classroom. Through the dual immersion program—and across the entire school—all students will have opportunities to learn about, share, and value the diverse cultures that make up our community. This focus not only supports academic achievement, but also builds empathy, respect, and global awareness for every child on campus.

At Finley, we also believe that language empowers students—and that includes the language of coding. Just like Spanish or English, coding is a way of thinking, communicating, and solving problems. Through our computer science-focused curriculum, students not only learn to code—they learn to express ideas, analyze patterns, and create meaningful digital solutions. Whether speaking Spanish, writing an essay, or building a program, Finley students are learning to become fluent in the languages that will shape their future.

As a proud Community School, we are committed to meeting the unique needs of every student by working in partnership with families and community organizations. This means offering expanded learning opportunities, wellness supports, and resources that help remove barriers to learning—so that every child has the opportunity to thrive. Our work as a Community School is guided by listening to our families and designing programs that reflect the strengths and aspirations of our community.

Our dedicated teachers and staff are committed to nurturing each child’s growth academically, socially, and emotionally. We continue to provide an engaging, supportive environment where students are challenged to think critically, act responsibly, and achieve through innovation.

This year, we are also building on the success of our Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) program, guided by our schoolwide motto: SOAR to Success:
S: Stay Safe
O: Own Your Actions
A: Achieve Through Innovation
R: Respect People and Things

Through PBIS, we recognize and celebrate positive behavior by awarding Eagle Bucks, which students can spend in our student-run SOAR Store. It’s a fun and meaningful way to reinforce our values while helping students take pride in their choices and actions.

At Finley, we know that education is most powerful when it is a partnership. We value your involvement and encourage you to stay engaged through Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) meetings, school events, and ongoing communication with our staff. Your support plays a vital role in your child’s success—and in the strength of our school community.

As we begin this exciting new year together, I’m filled with pride and gratitude to serve as the Principal of a school that leads with innovation, heart, and high expectations. On behalf of the entire Finley team, welcome to a year of growth, discovery, and connection.

Let’s make 2025–2026 our most inspiring year yet!

Warmly,

Ms. Pamella LeMuiex
